CUSV worked with the City of Beijing and Beijing Times to organize the first ever Cultural and Creative Industry Summit in China in September 2012. China Minister of Culture, Beijing Vice Mayor and Minister of Communication, Wanda Chairman, and CUSV Chairman/Founder Vardiabasis served as keynote speakers. On the U.S. side, Corey Remonds (Creative Cultural Media Inc.), Tony Gaston (UltraStar Cinemas), Linda Lore (former CEO of Frederick's of Hollywood), Sarah Pierce (former marketing director of major studios), and Jennifer Westphal (Managing Director, Morgan Stanley Global Wealth Management) spoke at the Summit. On the Chinese side, the leading state-owned enterprises, major private companies, and government officials led the discussion of the future in Chinese entertainment and media, cultivation of talents, protection of intellectual properties, funding viable projects, and planning exciting entertainment base real estate projects.
