Albert Huang


Albert Yumin Huang served the past 20 years as the principal of the LA and Taipei-based real estate development and design companies Richmont Development and TAG Design Works. Mr. Huang’s projects are primarily located in Southern California and Asia. In 2010 he chaired and organized the first-ever U.S.-China Real Estate Summit. Mr. Huang also founded and serves on the Board of American Plus Bank as well as China-U.S. Strategic Ventures. He is a board member of USC Architecture in LA and American Academy in China, and has served as councilman and mayor of San Gabriel.

Mr. Albert Yumin Huang served the past 20 years as the principal of 45-year old Los Angeles and Taipei-based real estate development and design companies- Richmont Development and TAG Design Works (formerly known as Studio R Inc.). Huang’s projects are comprised of single-family and multi-family homes, mixed-use buildings, community centers, private schools, and industry warehouses predominantly located in Southern California and Asia. During the real estate boom in Asia the family business recorded sales of over 300 homes in a day. In 2010 he chaired and organized the first-ever U.S.-China Real Estate Summit. Besides the real estate industry, Mr. Huang also founded and currently serves on the Board of American Plus Bank as well as China-U.S. Strategic Ventures.


Mr. Huang is a board member at the University of Southern California Architecture School and the American Academy in China. From 2004 to 2010, he was appointed and re-elected to the City Council after serving on the Planning Commission for the City of San Gabriel and served as its mayor in 2010. As Mayor, he created the destination district of the Golden Mile, organized international conferences while building strategic alliances with multiple Chinese cities, formed the first-ever environmental task force while making all city facilities into wireless hotspots for the youth in the community, and created an affordable prescription drugs program for the elders. Towards the end of 2010, Mr. Huang joined the California Entertainment and Tourism Advisory Committee in order to promote the state’s commerce through his international connections in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

Mr. Huang is passionate about his services in the community as he serves on the Ability First Housing Board, the Metropolitan Transit Authority Governance Council, the San Gabriel Valley Mosquitoes and Vector Control District Board, and the Los Angeles County Sanitation District Board in addition to his past leadership and involvement in the 80-20 Initiative, Asian Business Association, Special Olympics, and the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Huang has been a recipient of Congressional Recognition for his dedication and commitment to the community, a Fellow at the Huntington Library through his family influence in appreciation and collection of the arts, and a member at the historic California Club. Since China-U.S. Strategic Ventures' (CUSV) conception at the end of 2010, Huang and his partner, Dr. Demos Vardiabasis, along with their advisors have successfully built a platform bridging the top resources between the U.S. and China. In a single year, CUSV has organized and accompanied the China Generals and Admirals Association's trip to Taiwan, the leading U.S. Architects Delegation to Beijing, a U.S. CEO delegation and a European energy delegation to Beijing and Shanghai, and a China Real Estate Delegation to the U.S. Huang introduced Neil Bush, the son of Senior President Bush and the brother of President GW Bush as well as the Chairman of Bush Family Foundation, to the City of Chongqing, which is deemed as the center of Western Development in China. In addition to arranging businesses between the former Greek State Minister and the China Petroleum and energy companies, Huang and Vardiabasis have begun building joint-ventures within the area of cultural development and specifically in entertainment, which is emphasized on the Central government's 12-Project and 5-Year Plan. During Hollywood-Producer Scott Rosenfelt's recent visit to Beijing, Huang publicized Rosenfelt and his China plans on 14 major Chinese websites. Towards the end of 2011, Huang and CUSV advisor and former U.S. HUD Secretary, Henry Cisneros, organized the meetings between the leadership of ULI, NAREIT, JP Morgan, the China Ministry of Construction and the China Real Estate Association in hope of building real estate investment funds to invest in both the U.S. and China.
